Poor Spence

Yesterday morning was a typical Sunday morning in our home. I have really enjoyed having church at 11am because it is a lot less stressful getting everyone ready. I had just gotten Spencer undressed for his bath when Mark commented that Spencer's ear looked funny. When I looked down I saw that Spencer has a lot of goop draining from his ear. I panicked. We called our parents and both sets told us that his eardrum had ruptured. I hurried him to the urgent care where they looked in his ears and told us he had an ear infections that had caused fluid to build up. Finally a rupture in the membrane caused all the fluid to drain. They sent us home with two prescriptions. I have a few comments on this experience:
1. Those urgent care center must make a fortune. They charged an exorbitant amount for a quick look in the ears and writing two prescriptions.
2. Why do these things always happen in the middle of the night or on the weekend?
3. I am not a bad parent. Spencer never let on once that he had an ear infection. He has never been anything but happy and easy-going.

Poor guy! My nephew's ear drum ruptured not too long ago (he's 6) and he had a hard time hearing for a couple weeks. It's all better now. What a good baby to not even let on that he had an ear infection. He's a cutie!!
