BALL!

This is what we hear at least 100 times a day. Spencer has been a little slow in talking and he is finally getting a few words like dada and ball. He loves to play baseball, basketball, soccer, etc. I continue to be amazed at how different he is from the girls.

Dressing up for Spring

Since Easter was the same day as General Conference, the kids got to wear their new church clothes this past Sunday. They looked so cute I had to snap a few pictures.

Cute Boy!

I haven't posted any new pictures of Spencer in a while. He just turned 18 months old. He started nursery on Sunday. He was so small I just hated to leave him. I shed a few tears.

Much Needed

Sarah's hair has been through some pretty wacky changes.
1. She was born nearly bald. Peach fuzz only.

2. What was this all about? I have never seen hair thicken in such a wild manner.

3. The baby hair grows out and gets stringy.

4. Time to cut it off for thicker, cuter hair.

An Explanation

Last week, Sarah and Avery were rolling around in the office in the desk chairs. Avery was pushing Sarah when she hit the raised section of the floor between the wood and the tile. The chair tipped forward and threw Sarah out onto the tile. She banged her forhead so hard, the goose egg was literally the size of an egg. Over the next few days, the swelling began to lessen but the bruising spread from her head to her eyes. So both of her eyes look black. My theory is that Sarah hitting her head has been the cause for her super nasty behavior. See, the frontal lobe of the brain is located behind the area she hit.

This is what wikipedia says about the function of the frontal lobe--"The executive functions of the frontal lobes involve the ability to recognize future consequences resulting from current actions, to choose between good and bad actions (or better and best), override and suppress unacceptable social responses, and determine similarities and differences between things or events. Therefore, it is involved in higher mental functions."

Hmmm! It seems there is definitely some damage there. Maybe I should just forget about being a nurse and become a doctor instead!

Look at my poor baby. I hope she will heal soon.

This picture does not do the damage justice. It looks much worse than this.

Obscenities

I have a problem with my redheaded angel. The problem is that she is not angelic at all. I know it is hard to believe when you look at that sweet innocent face and see that little dimple but it is true. She spews the worst three year old obscenities when she loses her temper. Seriously, she says the worst words she knows--freakin', poophead, idiot, stupid, baby. She strings them all together and sounds like the worst potty mouth I ever met. I have a hard time not laughing at her. Please someone tell me how to put an end to these awful swear words!!!

Almost there!

So I have finally almost made it to the end of the semester. Really, I am only taking two classes but it is quite a load. This month is nothing but straight tests and finals are the second week of May. Yay! I have yet to decide if I am going to continue with classes through the summer. Its a funny thing in life--just when you think you got things figured out, you get a curve ball. That random statement is referring to my plans for the future. One minute I feel like I need to back off of taking so many classes and the next I feel like I need to really push to get my degree. Sometimes I just wish I had someone making my decisions for me.
