To Recycle or Not?

So, with the upcoming holiday, I have been discussing costumes with the kids. I have been gently urging my children to wear something we already have. When Avery was two years old, I worked really hard to make this candy corn costume. Believe me when I say IT WAS A DOOZIE!

So I had Sarah wear it when she was old enough and I am considering having Spence wear it this year. Is it too weird that I will have three different pictures of three different children three different years wearing the same costume? So I have to consider if I am being environmentally friendly or just CHEAP!

p.s. We are also recycling this costume this year...

"Sarah, you want to be a ballerina for Halloween, Right?"

"Um. Right mom."

See, that was easy.

Terrible twos

My boy just turned two last weekend. This is where the fun begins right? But, he's pretty cute so I guess I'll keep him. Here are few shots from his birthday.

Monkey Boy

Sometimes, I go into my closet and I find this...

The Tooth Fairy

It finally happened! That tooth gave up and fell out.

Thanks Tooth Fairy for all the loot!

I Should...

I should be reading this:

Instead I am reading this:

And I am loving it.

Playing Hookie

Avery had a hard time getting to bed last night so I used it as an excuse to pick her up early from school today. Sometimes, I just miss her. Anyway, we took advantage of her being home and make some "Tooth Fairy Pillows". We saw these at a craft fair a few weeks ago and we thought they were so cute. Yes! I was actually inspired to dust off my sewing machine. Basically, the tooth goes in the pocket on the front, then the child hangs the pillow on the door for the tooth fairy to leave her money. It makes things very easy for the "tooth fairy". I think they turned out pretty cute and the timing could not have been more perfect since both of Avery's bottom front teeth are loose. Sarah still has a few more years, but at least she has her pillow when she's ready.

The operation

Spencer has had recurring earaches since he turned one year old. Finally we decided he needed to get tubes in his ears. Today was the day. He was very brave and didn't cry at all.
Playing in the waiting room before the operation.

Being rolled off into the operating room.

Rocking with mom afterwards.
