Katherine was taken to the NICU shortly after birth. She was immediately put on the CPAP machine to help her with her breathing. IVs were placed through her cord for fluids and monitoring. She got a feeding tube put down her mouth and into her stomach. The poor little girl was poked and proded for quite a while. Once I was moved out of Labor and delivery, I was able to see my little girl. I couldn't hold her but I was very happy to see that she was healthy and sleeping soundly.
